Four quarterbacks have a chance to be the Texans' Week 1 starter. Yates and rookie Tom Savage participated during the first day of OTAs Tuesday at the Texans' indoor practice facility near NRG Stadium.
First year coach Bill O'Brien said the team will eventually make a decision about its quarterback situation, which will affect repetitions during training camp. But as of Tuesday, the race for the starter spot remains "wide louboutin replica open."
"These guys are good guys, they've been fun to coach," O'Brien said. "(Quarterbacks coach) George Godsey's done a great job cheap red bottom shoes with them. And I think they've enjoyed learning this offense and they're competing. It looks like there's good chemistry in the room, which is important in the quarterback room. I've been impressed with these guys, the way they work at it."
O'Brien said the Texans will ensure during OTAs that reps are equal and each of the four QBs gets a chance to run the first unit. However, the team will narrow its focus as the regular season approaches.
"Whether it's two weeks from now, three weeks from now, two months from now we'll make a determination on who gets the most reps to get them ready for the cheap red bottoms game," O'Brien said. "But we're not there right now. We've got to continue to give these guys an equal amount of reps to give them an equal shot."
