The Dallas Cowboys antworten

The Dallas Cowboys fell to the Arizona Cardinals in their third preseason game of the 2013 NFL season on Aug. 17, and while the defense played well, the offense played their worst preseason game of the year. Here is a look at five things of note in the Dallas Cowboys vs. Arizona Cardinals preseason game.

People say that preseason games mean nothing, but when it comes to turnovers in this game it means a lot. Last week. The Dallas offense couldn't get the ball into the end zone thanks to stupid penalties and this week it was worse. This week, the first team offense suffered three turnovers, with a total of six through the entire game. Dwayne Harris fumbled a punt return and both Dez Bryant and Lance Dunbar fumbled. Harris is expected to be a return man for Dallas this year and Dunbar is the third down back, so all three count against the starters.

The other turnovers included two Kyle Orton interceptions and one by backup Alex Tanney. If it wasn't for the Dallas defense limiting Arizona to four field goals, the game would have been a blow out.

While Dez Bryant fumbled the ball, he showed his new power and solid play once again. After three preseason games, Bryant looks like he will be a monster receiver for the Cowboys in 2013. In this game he finished with four receptions for 74 yards and should be the clear No. 1 receiver for Dallas this year, surpassing Miles Austin once and for all.

Rookie DeVonte Holloman was part of a suffocating defensive effort for the Cowboys. If not for the turnovers, Dallas might have pitched close to a shutout against Arizona, and would have surely won the game easily. Holloman hasn't been talked about as much as the corners and men like Sean Lee, but he has proven this season he deserves a spot in the starting rotation. He finished the game with four tackles, three of them solo, and intercepted his second pass of the preseason.

After splitting playing time with Nick Stephens in the first two games of the preseason, Alex Tanney played the entire second half of the game this week. While he threw an interception, he also threw the only touchdown pass of the game to tight end Gavin Escobar. He also ended up completing 14 of 19 passes for 136 yards cheap jerseys in the game and outplayed Kyle Orton. Next week, Stephens should get his shot.

Rookie Terrance Williams got his first chance to prove he belonged in the conversation as the cheap nfl jerseys Dallas Cowboys third receiver and played like you might expect for someone in their first playoff game. Williams had one play in the game that would have been an easy touchdown if Tony Romo had not overthrown him and he finished with one catch for five yards. On the other hand, Dwayne Harris made up for his fumble by catching six passes for 57 yards. On the positive side for Williams, Danny Coale didn't catch one pass.
